Guest guest
Bernie... You said you were feeling just awful....I wanted you to know that one of the side effects of beta blockers can be depression. My doctor had to try a few before we settle on Zebeta which seems to work the best for me. Hope you feel better. Lee P.S. An antidepressant could help. Could this " depression " effect be evident with only a 25mg dose of Toprol per day? I am generally a very up-beat person, but have have this weird feeling of " dread " for no apparent reason for the past year or so (about how long I've been on the Toprol) and this post struck a chord with me. Yes, it could be on a dose that low...put in a search for Toprol, or " beta blockers " and try to look to see that the sites you read are reliable--i.e., hospitals, HeartCenterOnline, NIH, etc. And, it may be that you just need a bit of an antidepressant--heart patients usually do have problems with depression (and sometimes a bit of anxiety.) Feel better Mike...Hugs, Lee
