Guest guest
Hi all. We have heard from the office of Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH), the ranking Republican member of the HELP committee, that the Senate IDEA bill, S.1248, will NOT be brought to the full Senate floor as expected on April 7 or 8. We're told to keep an eye on the week of April 19th. This is yet another delay, and we have to think that we've got them giving very serious consideration to whether they want to tackle such a controversial bill at this point. We need to keep the pressure up! We'd like to bombard Senator Frist's office (the Senate Majority Leader, who determines the Senate floor schedule) with calls, faxes and emails this weekend and next week, asking him to " please remove S.1248 (IDEA reauthorization) from the Senate's schedule for this year. " We especially need folks from Sen. Frist's home state of Tennessee to participate. Here's Senator Frist's contact information: Senator Bill Frist 461 Dirksen Senate Office Building Washington, D.C. 20510-4205 Phone: (202) 224-3344 Fax: (202) 228-1264 Web form: http://www.frist.senate.gov/index.cfm?FuseAction=AboutSenatorFrist.ContactForm We're in the home stretch here and need to keep our voices loud and clear! Please take a moment, especially (but not only) if you're from Tennessee! Thanks!! Sandy, Illinois (alpy2@...)
