Guest guest
Hi everyone, We had some additional problems with Kaitlin's doctor and getting referrals and tests completed. Blood work that was suppose to be done early this week was CANCELLED because phys. went back to his belief that Nothing was wrong be cause she " looked better " . Soooooo Mama Bear came out, I found a team of ped. endocrinologist in Indianapolis with Riley Children's Hospital and faxed them Kaitlin's test results and medical records with her symptoms. In less than 12 hrs. the nurse called back saying Kaitlin was Hypothyroid, a new order for blood work was requested and that the Drs. from Riley were going to take over her care for the thyroid disorder from this point on. We just got back from the lab. Kaitlin is learning the routine and as soon as her name was called the tears started to flow... poor little peanut. She was a bit better once the blood was drawn and she got her lollipop and care bear band-aid. She is making me feel guilty...every 5 min she shows me her band-aid and says " no more ouchies mommy OK " ; breaks my heart. Hopefully she can start treatment next week!!! In the meantime is there anything with her diet that we should change/modify/eliminate, other than what I have read lately...diet soda, broccoli, cauliflower...? Thanks Mommy to Kaitlin (22 mth. old China Doll)
