Wanda, It can take six to eight weeks sometimes longer, for you heart to

settle down.

During that period, you would have AF events of some sort and of varying

lengths. Mine took three months, then it was gone.

The other senerio is a touch up ablation, that is very common. Your at an

excellent hospital. Keep the faith.

Wanda, it's very common to still have afib right after an ablation.

The heart has to heal and recover from the ablation. I forget the

actual time frame where this happens - three months maybe, but I

could be off by a month or so.

Some people do luck out and are fine immediately, but they are in the

distinct minority.

Also, some people need a " touch up " ablation because the docs are

conservative in ablations, they don't want to do too aggressive

stuff, so they err on the side of too little when in doubt.

It's also quite usual to have to continue on an afib suppressing med

while the heart heals.

Hang in there. I envy you having had the guts to have an ablation.

I think you will soon be afib free.

Wanda, Take them to www.affacts.org ( The AF Foundation) and they can read

first hand what's involved with a Pulmonary Vein Ablation.Click on Dr. Keane's

article. Knowledge is power.
