Guest guest
funny about the vaccine issue. We have a 5 month old puppy, and a new vet. She INSISTED that I separate the vaccines FOR THE DOG......now....if a veterinarian is this insistant on that (she must have some clue here....) why is a pediatrician not quite as forthcoming to us when it comes to our children? I've had this puppy there 5 times in the 3 months she's been with us, because this wonderful vet didn't want her to have " ANY possibility of adverse reaction. " I was very impressed that someone could care for my pet enough to encourage me to handle her with such care, and really RETHINK the whole vaccine thing. Even when it comes to a pup, which TO ME.....they are babies, too~ and ohhhhh she's just sooooooooo cute! ~k wrote: Thank you all who wrote in on this issue. It really was confusing me and with your help I can see that it was a doctor's way of just trying to tell me to give the vaccines and not cause a problem. This experience has now made me question our using her as our pediatrician. I guess I'm frustrated because if I was a doctor and had an apraxic child in my practice I would want to know all the latest and greatest on it. I suppose with patients every 15 minutes and frequently double booked that there isn't much time left for research. Jeez, what part of the country has all the good doctors!? Thanks again! Guest guest
Hi Karyn- My vet was the same way! Esp. since my " puppy " (now 11 mos and 140 pounds) was a rescue and very, very sick when I got him, they felt that he needed to have the vaccines separated , although they said they strongly urge it for all of their pups! Makes you wonder, doesn't it.....hmmmm??? Incidentally, the OT at Burpee today said that if I cannot get CJ into hippotherapy due to a wait, I could always let him ride McGinn, LOL (of course, I would NEVER do that, even though Mcinn would allow it!!). , mom to CJ Karyn <KissmeKaate@...> wrote: funny about the vaccine issue. Guest guest
you can get him in at Special Equestrians, especially if you can do weekday/day sessions. I think the next session starts in about 3 weeks, I'll send you the phone number. ~k wrote: Hi Karyn- My vet was the same way!
