Guest guest Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Topper () So you think drugs like levothyroxine, are not good? I ask my dr about checking my remaining adrenal gland and he said as long as my BP was OK there was no need, I take 3 bp meds. I also have a hump on the back of my neck/back, someone told me I should see a Endo for the adrenal gland. I don't know at 53 Ive all of a sudden become timid, and afraid to ask him, I think its part of the hashimotos, I dont know, Im just not the same person anymore. Ive told my family about all of the emails from the group and how you all have most of my symptoms, I dont think they believe or dont care...sometimes I just feel like giving up I dont like my life and I cant imagine living like this for another 20 years. s Quote

Guest guest Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Don't give up !! I've been where you are now, but this past week I've had the best week(no fatigue) in a long time, maybe years. I made the switch from Synthorid/Cytomel to Armour end of December. It's been a good change for me. I'm sorry I don't know much about levothyroxine. Is Armour a possibility for you? It's a natural hormone and very reasonably priced also. Hang in there. We understand and care about you. marie From: The_Thyroid_Support_Group [mailto:The_Thyroid_Support_Group ] On Behalf Of karenjohns3@...Sent: Monday, March 06, 2006 3:47 PMTo: The_Thyroid_Support_Group Subject: Re: Abbott Labs and the British Intelligence Topper () So you think drugs like levothyroxine, are not good? Guest guest Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 you will get through this... there is no problem with getting a second opinion. doctors are good for that. or you can take your doc info about buffalo humps and what not and see what he says. my doc ignored my requests, but did bloodwork which was normal, but if i want to take a supplement, he just wants to check it out first. Guest guest Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Levothyroxine and the other T4 only synthetics do work for some folks.. but they don't work for all of us... and your doc saying to wait for your BP to go funky before checking your adrenal levels... I think that's bull... Its recommended protocol to check adrenals before starting on thyroid hormone replacement... And... sorry... from my point of view.. if you're already on three BP meds to control it... it's already funky... or you wouldn't be on those three drugs... Unless the way I think is off.... Hashi's needs to be taken care of... letting things go, be it underdosing or no treatment at all... just means that you're gonna get sicker and sicker it ain't gonna get better.... I know how you feel about giving up.... but don't... keep working pushing fighting.. it's your life... with the correct treatment you get to be yourself again... All we need is the correct hormones to replace what our bodies can't make anymore... we don't need a mountain of drugs to treat symptoms... we just need to replace what we can't make and then the symptoms go away. *quietly climbing off soap box and sliding it back into it's corner* Maybe our families don't get it.. but now we know that we're not the only ones.. it's not in our heads.... there are over a thousand of us in this one group alone.. and there are a thousand other groups, online groups, real life local groups... people banding together to learn how to get better. The murmur of our voices is building... one day it will be a roar and we won't be ignored anymore.... *putting dust cover on soap box* Topper () On Mon, 6 Mar 2006 16:46:44 EST karenjohns3@... writes: Topper () So you think drugs like levothyroxine, are not good? Guest guest Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I just wanted to tell you all... I just got a paper today from SSI, saying I have enough credits to apply for disability. I haven't been working since 2003 and only worked a few months of 2002... I want to apply, do you think I'll get benefits? My primary doc said a few years ago if I ever wanted to apply he would sign for me... I thought for a while I was getting better (I still think I am but am years away from healthy). Volunteering 5 hours a week or less is too much for me.... although I do have good healthy days, I now have enough energy to sit around the house and feel rested, but not enough to go out and do things like a healthy person. Is it hard to get disability with Hypothyroidism, thyroiditis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia (only happens now when I have a reaction), asthma, Polycystic Kidney Disease, and allergies? Just curious... Re: Abbott Labs and the British Intelligence Topper () So you think drugs like levothyroxine, are not good?
