Guest guest Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 Hi , I too have hashimotos and have had a long battle with it. Before being dianosed,I was told I had bipolar and was a manic depressant. I was even hospitalized for depression. It was an ent dr. that found I had it, when I was being treated for a parathyroid problem. I am now on thyroid meds, feel alot better ,but the levels still aren't where they should be yet. I'm still hypo. Guest guest Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 Yep... we'll be having a talk... bring out the psychological impact on women dealing with being hypo NEEDS to be addressed... too many of us are told that we are depressed or hypochondriacs... or worse and that it has nothing to do with thyroid hormone levels but needs other 'masking' drugs.... argggh... won't get into it all here... but it's that attitude of docs that put me on crutches for YEARS from being underdosed and undertreated by the docs.... I had to start treating myself to get proper care and get off the blasted crutches! arrghhh calm... deep breaths... in.... out... in.... out... okay.. better.... putting away axe and shot gun.... doc hunt averted.. .....for now....
