I've been reading most of the emails from you all over the last couple days and wow, its all confusing. I'll try to explain a little. My husband went a couple years ago to a natural doc and he did some tests and such and said my husbands thyroid wasn't even working. I have no idea what all that meant, if it was dead or just not up to power. So that is all, nothing happened from there. I heard about this Armour on another group and it sounded like something my husband could use. But I have no idea if its what he needs, or how to use it or how to order it. Specially when he doesn't have the place to take all those tests. Any help or insight would be very nice. Is this expensive?? I'll list some of the symptoms or problems my husband has, always fatiged(extremely tired), overweight(can't loose) hair loss, always sweating, high blood pressure (when we take it) never feels good, the lists goes on and on. Ok, I'll wait to hear from someone out there. I have no knowledge of this whatsoever, I just want to help my hubby feel better and stick around longer the natural way. I had the same. Armour is from pig thyroid. It gives you exactly what your own thyroid would be giving you: T4, T3, T2, T1 and calcitonin. Unfornately, the vast majority of folks have been put on T4-only meds like Synthroid or Levoxyl for 4 decades, and the results have been disasterous. In fact, it's a medical scandal. First and foremost, your husband really needs a good doc. If you go into the LINKS section, check out the Armour Locate-A-Doc site, and see if you have one in your zipcode. If you don't, try out zips near you--I travel one hour and 20 minutes to my wonderful doc. When you go, you need to have his FREE T3 and FREE T3 tested. Note the word " free " in front of the T3 and T4. That refers to what is available and unbound. If his free T3 is low in the range, it's a dead giveaway that he has a diseased thyroid. Many ignorant docs will only test the TSH and T4. If numbers are " in range " , which can happen, they declare the patient " fine " and they routinely ignore OBVIOUS symptoms, putting the patient on anti- depressants or other ridiculous meds. Don't fall for that. Another option is to self-treat if you can't find a good doc. There are places to do labs and places to order Armour without a prescription in the LINKS section. But at least first see if you can find a good Armour doc. Where are you located? Armour is HALF the price of T4-only meds. It's not bad at all. Don't hesitate to ask questions.
