1 grain of Armour is 60 mg mixed with t3 and t3. I would add 30 mg, stay for

3 weeks see how you feel then I would imagine you would want to up again.

What were the results of all your lasts tests and the ranges when you were

just on the t4?

Thanks for this. Well my T4 was about the same 14.2. I don't have

the T3 result because they don't usually test for that over here in

the UK and at that time I was under my local GP.

The ranges here are T4 11.5 - 23.0 T3 2.1 - 6.0 TSH 0.4 - 4.0 odd

figures wouldn't you say!

When you say add 30mg, are you talking about the Armour?

Question----Are those the Free T3 and Free T4, or are they Totals? if

totals, only a portion is free, and you might not know which portion.

Hi there,

I managed to have a chat with Dr B. Peatfield. He says, I need to

sort out my adrenals first,no matter how much you take if your

adrenals are not functioning i will not react well to my meds. He

does say to stick to my Armour though!!

GOOD for Dr. Peatfield about telling you to stick with your Armour!

Let me tell folks here that yes, some folks do add T4 to their

Armour, and it's fine! But I have noticed that many folks who want

to add T4 are simply in need of more Armour!! Optimize your free T3

(i.e. get it at the top of the range, if not over) AND dose until

you feel fantastic and have no more hypo symptoms. Then decide. You

may find like most here that Armour by itself does the job for you!

Hi Janie,

Thanks for this. My problem is that although I'm only on 1 grain to

11/2 grain a day, my T3 was i guess at optimal level, it was

slightly over. I don't have the shakes or anything I feel if

anything still Hypo. It must be an Adrenal situation here. So i will

stick with 1 1/2 grains until i see Peatfield. But once again thanks

for your support. I will look forward to the day that I,m swinging

on my Armour.

About high T3 and relatively low doses of thyroid. T3 can go high in

adrenal fatigue. Since the thyroid adjusts output down by whatever

you take under what your healthy thyroid would make, your blood

levels of T3 should not go high on doses less than about 4-1/2 to 5

grains (very rough number of what a healthy thyroid makes a day,

people vary greatly in thyroid output). If they do, it is usually

due to adrenal fatigue. When there is not enough cortisol from the

adrenals, thyroid hormone cannot get into tissues and will build up

in the blood. T3 especially will build up because lack of sufficient

cortisol will make tissues resistant to T3 and unable to use it. So,

if you take a blood test with adrenal fatigue, you can get high

results even though your dose may not be high enough to fully treat

your hypothyroidism. T3 can also go high if you have the blood test

within a few hours of your thyroid dose. Many people do not take

their morning dose on the day of tests.
