Guest guest
Hi! I just joined this group to try to help learn more about this hypothyroid stuff. My name is Deb, I'm 32 and I was diagnosed with Hashimotos back in April of this year. I am already frustrated and angry with my doc because he doesn't seem to want to listen when I say things are WORSE and not better. I am right now on .112 mcg of levothyroxine and have been on .100 and .125 of synthroid. None of these have worked. In fast the last visit I had with my endo I told him at .125 mcg nothing was better. So when they took their blood work, only for TSH, they decided I was being overmedicated. Now I am much worse off than before and things I wasn't having problems with I now am and all other things got way worse. I feel like I am 107 and have had the flu for a year straight. My hair is falling out by the handful, I have to drink rediculous amounts of caffiene (coffee and enegry drinks) just to stay awake, every single part of my body aches to the nth degree, my eyes are jumpy, my skin is funky (dry and itchy), I have acne which I didn't have as a kid and I just can't do anything. I am so weak it's all I can do to get around and I am short of breath just going around the corner in my office. I also have the sinus infection that won't die in addition to lots and lots of swelling in my hands, feet and face. This is rediculous. I have an appointment with my endo on Thursday and I am thinking of just telling him to pound sand. I have been reading about Armour and want to try it, but I know that he doesn't prescribe it and I already know that he blows off my complaints. Any advice, suggestions? Where should I go to get Armour and at what dosage should I start? Thanks so much!! Hugs, Deb
Guest guest
Hi Deb. I don't know if you're aware of this, but a dr who doses or refuses to dose on TSH results IS going to keep you not feeling well. Been there myself by not being allowed to have thyroid meds when my TSH was 3.17, and my FreeT3 and FreeT4 were in the lower ranges. (that is always hypoT for me and most will agree it's the same for them. I finally started taking Armour on my own. Things are going quite well for me, and I no longer have the hypoT symptoms. Mine always started off with backaches, carpal tunnel, headaches, having to sleep as opposed to wanting to sleep, freezing cold when others were comfy. My hair also looks like straw when I'm at my worst. Once my levels get right, all that goes away? Who would have thought it. :-) SandyE~Houston On Tue, 21 Sep 2004 19:11:50 -0000 " Deb and " wrote:
