You know I used to think that same way. But then this is what happened to

me. I stayed the same for a very long time (plateau). We're talking months

here. I got so frustrated and was seriously thinking about giving up.

There were friends of mine that started at the same time with close to the

same amount to lose and they were hitting goals, etc.

I did finally get out of my slump--something I nearly started dancing on the

tables over-about a month ago. But I was still bummed that I was so far

behind from where I wanted to be. But you know what. I took the " Dr. Phil "

approach and turned those negative feelings into positive ones, by telling

myself that for all those months I MAINTAINED my weight. From what I hear,

maintaining your weight once you hit your goal is just as difficult as

losing the weight. And here I did it for months. So I talked with my

friends who hit those goals and it just confirmed what I'd told myself. One

of them is really struggling to maintain.two of them lost the struggle,

gained 10 lbs and are back at weekly meetings. I figure I am close to being

ahead of them now because I have learned the art of maintaining a weight-so

half my work is done, right?

LOL.I guess my point in all that blubbering is this: Don't beat yourself up

for a stay.that is great. It is so much better than a loss.and you are on

the road to maintaining your weight once you get to where you want to be.

I have the same issues sometimes. I've had a rough past few weeks

with my children's illnesses. Plus with my son now waking again at

night, it's thrown my own schedule off and I'm getting hungry at

various unpredictable times. I've finally accepted that maintaining

is okay for right now. I'll lose the weight! I've already lost 40

lbs and I know that I can lose the 35 more. But now is crazy and as

long as I don't backtrack, I'm going to keep drudging ahead! Don't

get discouraged!
