She also developed that after she quit smoking, and the doctor told her it was her body ridding itself of the tar and gunk the smoking left in her lungs. It has been slowly going away; at first she was hacking them up almost daily, now it's only happening a couple times a month. She quit smoking about 3 years ago, after being a 2+ pack a day smoker for almost 60 years. They remind me of a really dense, kinda dry asthma plug....
