Guest guest
Hi - My 12 year old daughter has IgAN and I am seeking an email pen pal for her that also has IgAN. As a concerned mom, I'd like to talk to the parent of the respondant before I give my daughter's email address. Please respond to this email or call me at the number listed below. My daughter doesn't know anyone else with IgAN and it will be helpful for her to have someone to talk to that knows first hand what she is going through. Thanks for your support. Guest guest
Welcome to the group Kate. Glad to see you made your way here. I do hope some of the IgAN mothers (or fathers, but we do seem to have mostly mothers here) will contact you. Let us know how it goes. Guest guest
Hi Kate. My daughter is just turned nine recently. You may be looking for someone a little bit older and I don't know how my daughter would feel about it. My daughter was diagnosed in March of this year through a biopsy. She has been on two rounds of cytoxin (mild dose of chemo) and steroid therapy since March. She's been through gaining about 30 pounds and we've been in the hospital for ten days off and on. She's still on steroid treatment. We are however down to 11 ml every other day. That's awesome compared to being on 21 ml every day. Anyway, we're down to not having any protein in our urine and we started out at 3+. So, after ten months, we are seeing great improvements. It's hard seeing your child face so much. I feel so helpless a lot of days. I don't know what kind of treatment your daughter is on, but I'll say a prayer for her every day and you. Good luck and god bless.
