Hello Goutham, I am so sorry that your wife has been diagonsed with IgaN and

that she is so close to dialysis. I can't imagine finding out 2 months ago and

already that close to ESRD. I was diagnosed 3 years ago when i was 25 and have

been pretty lucky so far. I hope that you and your wife are doing okay with

trying to deal with the news. This is a great group of people that will always

be here to support you through the good and the bad. It really makes me happy to

see a husband here to support his wife. She is very lucky! Pierre and are

the experts that can help answer your questions. You can also go to the sister

website at www.igan.ca

There is so much info that Pierre has put on there. Once again welcome to the

group! Jill H

Thanks for the quick response. She was diagnosed only two months back and now

the neph tells me that she is at the final stage. I was surprised about how the

doctors in India or NewZeland (I live in Los Angeles,Ca now) could have missed

it for so long. My wife said she went for some routine urine tests in India and

Newzeland, but nobody told her about IGAN.

Anyway we have an appointment with her neph today. Will post the developments.

Thanks once again.

Hi Goutham,

Welcome to the group.I am sorry to hear that your wife has IgAN. My

name is Priya and I was diagnosed with IgAN a month ago. I cannot

answer your questions, but I can tell you there are really

knowledgeable and experienced ppl in this group who can answer these

questions. This group is really supportive and you can ask all sorts

of questions and they will answer patiently.

When was your wife initially diagnosed? You must have read on the

net that for some it is really slow (taking 20 to 25 years) and for

some it rapidly develops to esrd.

Anyway, pl feel free to ask any questions and once again, welcome to

this group.

group than anywhere else. My wife has been diagnosed with IGAN. She

is at 10% stage so the doctor said she will have to be on dialysis

very soon. It is very surprising because she is just 28. I heard it

takes years before IGAN goes into final state, but she is at her

final stage already. What I wanted to know is what adjustments she

will need to make when she is in dialysis. Can she continue her

work? Is it possible to be pregnant even while on dialysis? These

are some of the questions she has and is very worried. Any answers

would be appreciated.
