Bull,

I don't think there is a difference in the the pain with an acute

pancreatis and chronic they are both bad I have had both and the difference

between acute and chronic which was told to me by many many doctors was that

with accute you may never have another attack once you are told you have

chronic pancreatis you know that somethin you eat or drink or maybe nothing

will set off an attack.... and when you are told it is chronic it means there

is damage to your pancreatis...hope that helps that is what was told to me....
