Some sad news---one of our physician friends who was going to have Dr. Rutledge's surgery found out two weeks ago that he has Pancreatic Cancer and has decided to let God take his/her course...That is such sad news, but we are all praying for him. It always seems just incredulous when a physician gets stricken with something like that. Our community lost a fine physician recently to lung cancer at 40 yrs old. He never smoked. We must all just hope that your friend doesn't suffer too badly. Thank you for sharing. I'm sure that the prayers from this group will be far-reaching. I work till 7:ooam then saw the Doc. so on top of getting bad news I was a zombie from not sleeping for 24hrs and didn't take the news well. I'm sure things will be all right. Thanks again. If it's any consolation, I've seen a few people post similar experiences over the past few months and the next thing you know they're fine and have a surgery date for the MGB. She numbed me up (spot) and used an ultrasound to guide the needle. She even turned it so I could watch the needle hitting home! It was fascinating and did not hurt one bit. I went home with a bandaid and got the results the next day. My understanding is that this needs to be done by a surgeon with the ultra sound equipment to make sure they get that needle just where it's supposed to go. Good luck. This is a piece of cake.
