Guest guest
Amen, Roxanna. You and your mother are in my thoughts. I have a dream of winning four weeks at a far away health spa without phone, radio, or tv. Maybe that would be enough of a jump start in healing myself. I have an adult step-daughter with a diagnosis of Bipolar disorder who has gone into a mixed episode with swings of mania and depression. By Sunday night the diarrhea had set in, but Monday I upped my hc dose to 15 mg a day instead of 10 and I'm feeling better. (She also finally admitted herself to a psychiatric unit so we are all getting a break for the next three to five days - until she is released) I wish I could act with hc support increase though instead of re-act. I need the up in doseage before the stress overloads me not after. How long to you take the increased dose? I've only been on the hc support dose since 8/23/04 and this is my first increase due to increased stress. Jen R. -- Re: adrenal symptom I am having a bit of a balancing problem right now too. My adrenals are weak I have found that 25 mg a day does me very well until some additional stress comes along....can even just be very HHH weather, and I get return of low adrenal symptoms. I have tried lowering my thyroid meds to help but I just get very, very groggy and feel depressed. The only thing that has helped is keeping the thyroid meds up and HC up and resting. Right now I expect it will be extraordinarily hard to balance and stay balanced where I just got word that my mother has another metastatic tumor.. ..on her back this time....she started radiation yesterday. Boy, did I adrenal crash that day. Don't you wish sometimes that the world could just stop for a while so we could heal our glands and then be able to join back in with the fluctuations of life? Guest guest
I had started with 20 mg as Peatfield said this was the common dose. But at that I was up and down with the slightest provocation...just like old times. :-( He had mentioned that some cases need more than 20 mg to do ok. I took the hint and started 25 mg a day. I take 2.5 mg when I wake up to nature's call in early AM. This insures that I go back to sleep. Tried without and it is a gamble I usually loose. I then take 5 mg as soon as I get up and then every four hours throughout the day. I take the other 2.5 mg as I get into bed. The with-sleeping-HC has given me extraordinary deep sleep....restful. I also have to take a bit of thyroid meds just before going to bed or I wake up in the morning feeling totally asleep. I've tried every combo and have found that I do REALLY well with a touch of HC ( 2.5 mg ) and a touch of T3 ( 2.5 mcg ) as I get into bed. I sleep SO well and wake up refreshed and happy.I'm surprised at how different everyone is. I think it is good that we all share our experiences where it seems no two people are the same in the way they need and react to their meds. From what Peatfield said I do not think the 25 mg is a high dose for me. Right now I need it and so will take it. If I had no stresses from life I am sure I could do well on less, but that is not the case. I'm just hoping that 25 mg can get me through all that going on now. I'm really having to let everything else go in order to be able to cope with the added stress of my mother right now. Thank you for the kind words.
