Dawn,

thanks for the info. I see that threelac is in packets, is it something that

you have to mix with water? I can take tablets ok but I hate weird tasting

drinks, they make me gag.

I am going on a week's holiday in September so I may hold off on the treatment

until I come back.

Do need to take anything to detox after the die off?

Lynda

candida

Yep here's where I can help you back :-)

this was my big flare up last year due to stress which led to teh current

crisis.

I had read that as long as you are hypoT that it is impossible to balance out

the gut and get rid of those beasties. Apparently they are very good at becoming

resistant to whatever things are taken against them. So it seems to me best to

wait till one's metabolism is normal before taking anything to kill them.

Otherwise you may be setting up an impossible scenario.

Of course it wouldn't hurt to boost the immune system in the mean time. Powdered

colostrum, Echinacea, Oregon Grape Root, and Goldenseal are good for that.

3x/day

Helping out the good gut bugs can be done with lots of live culture plain yogurt

and probiotic capsules ( refrigerated ). 3x/day, at least

Not strictly true you may not get rid of them all but you get rid of lots so

it becomes managable and not painful as I have

As it can also be a chicken and egg situation (read is candida an endocrine

disorder at http://www.candida-society.org.uk/) if you think you have it

then you need to treat at the same time as you would adrenals otherwise you

aren't getting a true picture of your health

..

The symptoms for candida are the same as hypo so you may not need as much

meds as you think you do as by addressing the candida issue then you may be

better quicker.

There are so many knock on effects with these illnesses that we may not know

which is the original culprit. I was extremely ill this time last month and

couldn't get out of bed, mood swings, wasn't even safe enough to hold a

plastic knife my coordination was so off no to mention the carpal tunnel

syndrome and as for driving .... thought it was the thyroid symptoms pointed

to it, then decided to look at my tongue which had got quite pink . not a

pretty site major flare up due to teh fact I'd been complacent on holiday

(my first in 15 years boy did I need it) drunk alcohol, eaten Greek honey

cakes and screwed my system. After being back on eh diet and meds for 4 days

the flare up was gone so which was it thyroid or candida

Yes some of the traditional antifungals such as pau d'arco, grapefruit seed

extract, caprylic acid etc need rotating in 4 day cycles to prevent the

critters from adapting as I said earlier. some of the newer ones such as

threelac and candigest don't and of course we need to build up our immune

system anyway so the candida doesn't overgrow in teh first place.

Better than yoghurt is Kefir which is similar but has more superbugs
