the thing is there is no thing saying if they have mental or not. those test

are easy to fake. I know when they did my ampuation I had to see a shrink

guy and I coudl tell from his queestion what type of ansers he would want to

here. so you anser them the way they want to ehre then and they say yep your

I'd like to cast my vote with those who are responding to Dave's post. I

am new to this list but I " know " a lot of these posters from other lists

and I am amazed at their patience in dealing with your judgmental posts.

You basically call Helen's husband a slacker because his arthritis does

not allow him to work. You call people with mental impairments *mentals*.

You claim to have the answer for those who say they are in too much pain

to work to " deal with it " . You " know for a fact " that SSDI has a computer

that spits out rejections at will, and all the time you are sending out

these missiles of mass destruction, you are doing so without looking at

what you typed or using spell check or maybe they are in a different

language because it takes a special kind of patience to decipher your

special code. Did your mother ever tell you that people in glass houses

should not throw stones? This might be a good time to heed that advise

cause your plan doesn't seem to be working.

Of course, like everything having to do with DM, YMMV

In my case, they do not believe I have mental illness and are really giving me

hell. I do not believe it is always easy to get disability because one is

mentally ill. So far, I have had no luck, and I am not someone who is sponging

off the system and lying about my problems. I can't even afford the meds I need

to get stabillized so that I *can* work! If I could, there might be a chance I

could do something, but between mental and diabetes and eye problems there isn't

much out here to get...hard enough for folks who are NOT disabled to find jobs.

Okay...rant done.

So sorry, I do disagree...in some instances it is *not* easier, esp if your pdoc

said one thing, and then another changed the diagnosis later without good cause,

and if you aren't quite at the legally blind cutoff point.

This is not true. Not one word you have said about this subject is true. For

one thing, if psychological tests are given, they have items built into them so

a professional can tell if there is any faking. This is different from an

interview with a psychiatrist, and also an interview by a psychologist will be

different from one with a psychiatrist. I actually do mental health for a

living. The interview you had for mental health effects of an amputation would

be completely different from one designed to determine if a person otherwise

physically healthy is mentally ill. It is not easy to fake mental illness at

all.

keep

trying. You are worth it.

I saw that. He said his mother was in a wheelchair because she was lazy.

So I guess Dave taking any advise from his own mother as to people in

glass houses throwing stones, might be wishful thinking. I also noticed

that first he had a friend who was a lawyer and then it became his friend

the lawyer was his disability lawyer. If this lawyer/friend charges him

then cross off the friend part. A more logical scenerio might be that

this lawyer decided that Dave was eligible to file for disability due to

mental conditions and that she didn't want to represent him and used the

excuse that she didn't handle mental disability cases.

Regardless, it seems that Dave has missed some of his anger management

classes because he is angry about a lot of things besides SSDI so you are

probably smarter than me. Ignoring him is probably the best medicine.

Lets see, do you think one dose of ignore Dave will do the trick?

Thanks for the sensibility.
