Guest guest
No!! They accept what Medicare pays; and I understand Medicare pays the same as your insurance company would pay? Do not let them get away with it. My insurance covers my MRIs, but I used to be on Medicare only. They gave me some hassle about MRIs early on, but my neuro fired off a note to them saying that MRIs are a necessary procedure for NF2 and basically demanded that it be covered. Have a talk with your doc. and see if he can't apply some pressure to them; NO WAY should you pay for that out-of-pocket! Raise some hell; the squaeky wheel gets the grease..... Guest guest
Hi Lana: A later post from Nate states, " My insurance covers my MRIs, but I used to be on Medicare only. Raise some hell; the squeaky wheel gets the grease..... " The MRI bill right now is from my son's MRI. He has not been diagnosed with NF but I believe all the stress of his grandma, aunts and mom's NF does have an effect on him (hopefully that is the only reason for his headaches at that time). I will definitely contact a neuro and have then holler. Sally (from Illinois)
