Guest guest Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 Hi Pierre, Congratulations on your daughter's graduation! I must have missed that post. He's only a few blocks away, so that makes his mother happy : ) ....especially after his phase of living hundreds of miles away, in three different parts of the country. He is 20, but he hasn't quite found himself yet, unlike his older sister who just graduated from university. With her B.A., she's hoping to continue to get a Bachelor of Education this coming Fall... but she has to be accepted first. She wants to be an English teacher. I'm feeling much better. There was a bit of a virus going around the hospital, so maybe I just happened to coincidentally get it the very next day after getting the pneumonia shot. Yeah, right! Pierre Quote

Guest guest Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 Thanks for posting about Luther Kind Day, Betsy. To be honest, up here in Canada, I didn't notice it was a special day in the U.S. until I saw your post. I've been busy helping my son move into his own apartment. Pierre Re: Luther King Day There are many things that could be put into the blank in " judged by the _____ " , when everyone should be judged by the content of their character. Even if racial prejudice has decreased, there are many other excuses for discrimination, including disability, so as Rita said, there is plenty more to do. " We shall overcome some day... Guest guest Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 Hi Pierre, You must be very proud of her. What an accomplished young lady. It is good she will have options to fall back on too. I hope she gets accepted in her first choice and is able to stay at the same university. You will have to let us know when she hears back. In a message dated 1/17/2005 6:58:12 P.M. She has already applied to get into the Bachelor of Education program in the Fall, which is only one additional year on top of the Bachelor of Arts. She applied to three schools, but she is hoping to be able to stay at the same university. After high school, she went to college for two years to become a law clerk... so she is also a qualified law clerk. Pierre Quote

Guest guest Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 I teach my kids the same thing. I do think it's one of the most important lessons they have learnt in their young lives. I remember my grandfather telling me " good people come in all shapes and colors, and bad people come in all shapes and colors too...you just need to learn to determine the good from the bad by their actions. " My grandfather was a neat man. Amy G.
