Gosh, that is really wierd, I would have thought the meetings with

the nutritionist would have been a somewhat important part of the

whole process...but, what do I know. So, hopefully that speeds up the

process for all you So Cal folks. Up here in the northwest we have to

meet with a nutritionist at least 2xs with food journals and all that.

Hi Kym and

welcome. I also had my surgery at Pacific Bariatric

in May of this year with Dr. Tanaka. I really like him and think he is an

excellent surgeon. Feel free to ask any questions you might have about the

Pacific Bariatric program and I’ll do my best

to answer. For the record, I’d say your chances are extremely good that

you will not regret having wls – the others I’ve

spoken with who’ve also had wls have been overwhelmingly exuberant that

it was the best thing they ever did.

Re: Hi Kym

Thanks for the welcome Gordy :)

I got a referral from my PCP to the nutritionist

in June04, when I

called them to make an appt. they said that step

had been phased out

and told me I now had to attend the surgery

information class, which

I did. In the class they also said that Kaiser did

away with the

dietition part of the process.

You would think that it would be the same for all

of Kaiser. But I

dont know anything... lol
