Guest guest
(Below are actual statements made by docs to patients who are members of this site. If you have your own, send them to me. Janie) 1. " fT3 is not tested anymore. It's an outdated practice. " 2. " You just will need to live with it. " 3. " It's not your thyroid. You need to be on an anti-depressant. " 4. " Your tests are all normal so you are just fine. " 5. " Although you are experiencing many hypoT signs, it does not warrant any meds " (Made in 2004 by an Endo in Houston, Texas who thinks labwork rules over OBVIOUS symptoms!) 6. " Being hypothyroid for a few years won't do you any harm....... " (Said by a doc who refused to prescribe Armour and didn't care how lousy she felt on T4-only meds " .) 7). All the following courtesy of Endo's in UK, aka " Endobobbins " : a)In answer to I'm tired: " The average person on the street is tired " b)After being 'stabilized' on T4 after thyroidectomy: " You're cured now, anything else you experience, if you get depressed or don't feel right, is nothing to do with your thyroid and must be treated separately " c) After telling my Endonob I was on Armour: " Aren't you afraid of getting mad cow disease? " 8) When a gal continued to have lingering hypo issues when she wasn't on enough Armour, the doc replied that she needed to " MOURN HER SON " better!! (Her son had passed away in 1995) 9) Doc: I am taking you off thyroxine, there is nothing wrong with your thyroid. Me: But I feel so much better since I have been taking it. Doc: If you took speed you would feel better too. (from Lynda in the UK) 10) " Free T3 and Free T4 tests are only for patients with hyperthyroidism. It would be UNWISE to use those tests for someone with hypothyroidism. " 11) " It would be maltreatment to treat a TSH of 3.5. " Said by Endo to patient whose symptoms SCREAMED hypo! 12) " T3 is a like a narcotic. If you get used to it, we will have to wean you off of it. " Said to patient when her TSH got to .23, yet her free T3 was low in the range.

Guest guest
Here's one for you, Janie: D.O. in ville, FL told me, " You have a lot of symptoms, but your TSH isn't high enough for them to be thyroid. We'll take them one at a time as we go. " That was said after I'd filled out a symtpoms sheet and had almost every single thyroid symptom possible, and a 96.5* temp upon arrival at the office.... verified by nurse who took my temp and accused me of " drinking icewater " before I arrived at the office! What an idiot. It was the dead of summer and the heat index was over 100* outside. I showed up in a flannel shirt and jeans, shivering the entire time I filled out the paperwork. Idiots. > (Below are actual statements made by docs to patients who are members

Guest guest
the signs of low ferritin and hypo are the same. Without testing the ferritin, I would not add iron, but taking the iron because I WAS SO LOW, made a huge difference. Like I said though, without knowing the levels, it could harm you to take it > >Reply-To: NaturalThyroidHormones >To: NaturalThyroidHormones >Subject: Re: Docs can say the darndest things! >Date: Sun, 29 Aug 2004 16:01:19 -0000 >
Guest guest
Yeh, that's the whole trouble with the medical world nowadays, one symptom at a time, with oodlygobs of large pharma drugs, when it would take getting down to the REAL thing in how long? A thyroid treatment. Guest guest
Go to www.healthcheckusa.com. Get your own complete profile from the VIP PRO PLUS II, for $112, with the About.com discount, it will be $102 around about. This will tell you your kidney and liver functions, all your electrolytes, all cholesterols with risk profile, red and white blood cell counts, ferritin (not just serum iron level), Free T3, Free T4, TSH, and a host of other things. A doctor's office has a huge markup of all these things. This would ordinarily be around $400 or more in any doc's office. You order it yourself, then follow the directions from there. Set up a user profile, get your test results back within 3 days, and all this you do yourself at the most local location nearest you. I never knew such things existed before getting with these Groups, and it has saved my life. Plus, I decide what tests I want run. They have made the national news because of this. There are others, but, to me, this one is the best. Re: Docs can say the darndest things! > Hi, Jamy. No, I haven't.
