Hi all,

Well, I finally did it! I strapped back on the roller blades for the first time

in 4 1/2 years today. It was amazing! Before I tell you all about it I thought

I'd include a little history first.

Rollerblading was the love of my life 5 years and 80 lbs ago. Since that time I

have had a back injury, had a baby, had a miscarriage and gained about 80 lbs. I

had just brought a brand new pair of $400 blades when I got pregnant with my

daughter. Bummer.

Well...today I spent the morning cleaning up outside and Fighting with my 3

year old daughter. When my husband got home form work I grabbed my blades.

dusted them off and took off for the nature trail. I strapped my skates on and

though a little tighter in the calves they fit like a glove.

I bladed HARD for 3 miles and only fell once. I fell pretty hard and have a

pretty badly bruised tailbone and some road rash but seriously...nothing could

bring me down. I know I will feel it tomorrow but I am stoked tonight. It felt

so amazing to just get back out there and do something just for me.

I owe a lot of my strength to all of you and wanted to thank you all.

I love you all very much,

Amber in CO

That's AWESOME Amber! That looks like fun. Roy and I talked about

getting some blades yesterday when we were walking/jogging along the

Centennial Trail. It's all paved and is going to be, when it's

completed, 44 miles long! Right now there is well over 10 miles of paved

trail along what used to be railroad lines.
