Your docs evidently didn't know the new ranges out in Jan 2003 have a new

upper range of 3.4.

this sounds so familiar. I'm mad too. don't be surprised if the friends

don't listen. some folks still thinks docs are gods. haha.

Hi, Dawn,

I began thyroid treatment in 1975, and in 1981 after my father's illness

and death I fell apart too. So I know what you mean! I always suspected

adrenals because of the stress but back then I knew nothing about it and

of course, doctors wouldn't address it. They just treated me for the

depression. Anyway, I'm glad you are going ahead and treating yourself

to get better. Alot of people feel best with their TSH between 1 and 2,

however, many do best with the TSH suppressed. So doctors continue to

impede our wellness! I wish you the best!

in Va.

NP

It just occurs to me that I haven't introduced myslef on this list. I'm

on a

couple of other thyroid ones and brain fog being what it is forget which

one

i'm replying to.

I have been very ill for nealry 2 years after a major amount of stress

finally collapsing last summer.

At first thought it was just the candida playing up (had for 12 years

but

under control mostly) was dx'd with ME as my thyroid tests were normal

(TSH

3.99 T4 8.19) but not convinced saw a couple of alternative therapist

who

agreed with me so persude

Finally had urnine thyroid tersts done in April + saliva menoupause as

periods getitng worse and symptoms (I'm 41) showed I had hardly and

oestrogen or progesterone but mid range testosterone and flatlined

cortisol

& DHEA. Urine showed non conversion.

Endo at local hosptial didn't beleive tests so wouldn't see me but

allowed

GP to do more + this time T3 and andtibodies. new results 'normal and

slightly raised antibodies which mean I might get thryoid disease in

future'

(written like this as quoting GP) so will refer to endo now but won't

give

me any meds or d'x Hashimoto's

TSH 4.19 range .5-6

T4 14.6 10-25

T3 1.7 1.0-2.5

24hr cortisol urine normal

antibodies 880 range 0-50.

I put myself on adrenal and thyroid glandulars in June and am tons

better

periods normalised as well I go see a private doc on tuesday to cehck

I'm on

the right path as fed up of waiting as had to close my business just

before

christmas cos my hands were so shot and am like a deranged harpie most

days

LOL. been checking family history fro this doc and seems like I've

uncovered

it in relatives in various forms which is making me very mad and doing

lots

of reading as well as now sending off friends to eb tested who are in

similar pain

Thanks for all your info it's certaily helping

Dawn
