Guest guest
Hi, I was told by my doctor that when on antibiotics all bacteria, good and bad, are 'killed off.' When the course of antibiotics is finished then eating plain yogurt and taking probiotics to replenish all the 'good' bacteria that were killed of is very important in maintaining good health. If this is the case, then taking probiotics at the same time as the antibiotic would seem to me to be counterproductive. For this reason I make sure that I take my minocin at a minimum of 2 hours away from the probiotic. Guest guest
From this list and then reading other holistic health lists, I have been using probiotics for ten or eleven years. I joined in 1996, I believe. I have taken Sundown, PB8's, Jarro-dophilus(sp) and a few others. The most I took was 5 mg. of pred. which I have lowered to 2 mg. for a few years now. I get yeast ALL the time. Anyway, what I wanted to say is that some folks don't seem to be aware that not all yogurts have " live culture " which is what we need. i do not need the extra sugar and calories in yogurt. From childhood, I have usually awakened once during the night to void. This is when I tend to take two-three probiotics with water in an insulated mug. Guest guest
Hi ; You want a probiotic that has at least 6billion of at least 8 strains. It should be enteric coated so as to disolve in the intestine. If it is not coated the stomack acid kill off almost all the good bacteria and is a waste of money.I take 6 capsules a day as after almost 8 years on antibiotic I have a systemic yeast problem .I now have to take Diflucan and even it is having a tough time fighting it.
