HI Diane,

Hon if it were 'me'? I'd definitely leave the patch of estrogen as it is, (it's low enough in Estrogen as it is which we need) and if anything I'd definitely be cutting the progesterone if not out, at least in half. It blocks that needed estrogen.

Dee~

Hi,.........I also have a vivelle dot estrogen patch and progesterone as well. I cut the patch in half so I could reduce the estrogen and I am deciding what to do about the hormones as my Vulvar doc won't prescribe them for me.

try taking it at 3:00pm 4:00, thats what my doc suggested when I was on oral

amyitrypiline before ( i am now on topical plus neurontin). That way your

asleep early, but it may make it easier to get up in the morning. IT's hard,

but from my experience I have found that the side effects do decrease just

go slowly.

How timely this discussion is as I have a prescription for neurontin

which I haven't filled. I have been considering it for a month but I

hate to be taking another pill.

I take amitriptyline and it has helped but not totally by any means. I

have gained weight on it which depresses me. Adding neurontin to that

will probably make me gain more!

Reading all the info was confusing, though. I am starting to wonder if

taking L-Glutamine would be helpful instead.

I am working on other things which haven't cured the pain but are

making me feel much more optomistic. (spelled right? you know how

sometimes the word doesn't look right to you, this one doesn't, where

is spell-check when you need it.)

Neurontin didn't help me......neither did Amitriptyline.

No on the neurontin for me.... Lyrica is GREAT and only 150 mg at nite does it for me. Whereas with Neurontin I was maxing out my prescription benefits taking 3600 mg a DAY! and wanting more!! love and best of luck to you!! ml

Neurontin did nothing for me. I took it for 6 months at the max dose. It made me so forgetful. I couldn't even remember what I ate for breakfast that morning. I am on Lyrica now and I don't think it is helping much. I know Lyrica has worked for many though so maybe that might be a better option. Hi:

I took Neurontin for two years. It did nothing, but make me tired, dry mouth and constipated. I didn't have any problems weaning off of it as others have. I took 1200 mg a day. I have Dysesthetic Vulvodynia.

I know some people have had success with neurotin, I was on it for a short

period, but if you havn't tried other meds, I would try something else

first, my doc had me try tricyclic? antidepressants like Elavil, before

moving on to Neurotin which is an anticonvulsant, Anne
