Hi there,

I can certainly identify with the struggles this time of year, although it

hit me out of left field. I thought that the fall was my worst time, with

the kids' schools, Pop Warner football, then the holidays and all BUT I did

fairly well through all that. Let myself slide a bit on New Year's and here

I am still treading water. Dang it, I've maintained all that time because

I've had good days in there with some bad ones too.

What hit me was it was right after the holidays, then my son's birthday

right when I was trying to clean up the Christmas decorations, his party,

thank you notes, then right into one daughter's birthday at the beginning of

February, then her party and her thank you notes, plus PTA commitments and

on and on...yikes!! I felt overwhelmed because it was " out and back " several

times a day or more and sometimes at night and no time to recharge or

regroup and such--then the regular chores would be there too and I felt I

HAD to exercise and follow the program and sort of just plain gave up.

I guess that the good thing is that like you (and a few others that said so

too), I didn't really go off the deep and and go down the drain

completely--but rather I actually think I know what it takes to STAY the

same and that's what we need to go through. I stayed the same in January and

didn't weigh in for that month, dangerous behavior I might add, but looks

like things are okay. I stuggled with starting again in February but leave

it to a stomach virus to do that for me, lol!!

Since last Thursday I've not been able to get the total points in and have

dropped slightly, SO when I weigh in this Sunday I'm hoping to be down a few

and get to 45 lost and another star.

I'm SO very thankful that I have kids, a solid marriage and a good husband,

a nice house and the means to stay home with them and the means to do

activities, but at times I just feel completely and utterly non-appreciated

and I think that the busy schedule does me in and I need to do the better

planning for that. Maybe I need to say no sometimes to some things, so I

don't panic when I need to try to do " me " things.

I could go on and on but I won't, lol!! I think that this whole journey or

process to alot of is in one in which we DO have long and deep thoughts on

what is making us tick and able to stay on the program, even if we do fall

off once in awhile or for more than a few weeks. Good for all of

us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I basically said to myself that I would burn in " you know where " if I let

myself go up again, and I will NOT buy any bigger clothes. I have all that I

need right now (and some for the future at goal) and no bigger sizes so if

the clothes in my closet get too big, I'm not eating until they fit again.

AND I DID JUST THAT!!!!

Re: / What Should I eat for

lunch today????

Everyone has a time of year that is tougher for them. Like

you January/February is my roughest time. For me its the

weather --- cold, dank, snowy, icy, dark --- I just get

in such a funk. Last year at this time, I was in California

for much of February, plus I was just starting my journey, so

I was fine. This year, I didn't think it would throw me, but

it has ... so add to my earlier " excuses " the weather and that

I'm sick & tired of the treadmill and want to get back on my

bicycle... but as I said, all is well now and March is almost

here.

I just need to remember next year that this is a dangerous

time for me and I have to do a better job of planning during

these months.

Mitch
