Guest guest
Hi all I am stressing out cause of the flu vax shortage. I have horrible asthma with copd. I was told I am very high on need of a flu shot and I am waiting for kaiser to start...I just hope that I get one without having to jump thru hoops and go all over the world...I am trying not to stress and just think positive but it is difficult....Esp since I take care of a severely retarded man/child once a week (he is 25 but is about 4 in reality) and goes to school with others. I wash my hands all the time, but sometimes he coughs or talks into my face when I am zipping his pants...I try to hold my breath etc. so please help me stay focused and all on a positive note I saw Sasha (and Gity) yesterday... I really love their scales (never thought I would EVER say that!) I lost another 10 lb since I had weighed myself last week! thx B
Guest guest
Having working for Health Services Immunization Assistance for years, I know you are considered in the high risk population and should have no problem getting a shot. I know things are sketchy with the shortage of vaccine, but the department does the utmost to make sure at risk individuals are accomodated. You should probably call your PCP's nurse and find out when you can schedule coming in for a shot. I know my facility is doing clinics, but they may be accomodating high risk with appointments to make sure they are covered. Guest guest
B: Take a deep breath (in the fresh air) and try to remember that you'll be OK. It sounds like you've got a lot on your plate (no pun intended). One suggestion: stop watching the news. They repeat that stuff so much that it's making everyone panic. They have a way of instilling fear so that you (and everyone else) will be scared into tuning in for the next big update, which is the same story told a different way. How many ways can they say, " There is a shortage of flu vaccine " ? Keep washing your hands and take your vitamins. And get adequate rest and good nutrition. That should help you out until you get your vaccination. Best of luck to you. I've lit a candle for you. Light one for yourself and have a nice cup of (decaf) tea to relax. You'll be OK.
