You might want to take a couple things into consideration: 1) Cost - if you have to pay for any dental work out of your own pocket, extraction is usually the cheapest option. Unfortunately, that is too often a major deciding factor for many people. But if you don't want to leave any gaps in your mouth, a denture or implant will cost more than treating the tooth. 2) If you treat, will it last? Or are you likely to have further problems with that tooth? Consider your past experiences, both with that particular tooth and with your teeth in general. For example, I know with the bone density loss I have, it is a total waste of time and money for me to have fillings or root canals done - the tooth will break within 6 months. They always do. So I usually opt to extract. 3) Location of the tooth - Is it a front tooth, where a missing tooth will be obvious? If you're not terribly concerned about appearances, or it is a back tooth, then maybe extraction is the best way to go. 4) Have you ruled out all other possible causes for your urticaria? Obviously, having a tooth extracted is a major step and not something to be taken lightly. How likely do you feel this tooth may be the 'root' cause (no pun intended) of your urticaria? There are people that have been cured, but the numbers are a bit discouraging. With over 550 current members here, and probably another 400 or so that have come and gone, we've seen maybe twenty cures, give or take a few. One was a kidney infection, a couple were salicylate sensitivities, and the rest teeth. So obviously teeth are one of the bigger culprits, but not the reason for the majority of us.
