Guest guest
I'm a week or so behind you, Rory, and have not yet graduated to seafood. What concerns me is your report of light-headedness. I would call the post-op PB number. I happen to know that there are no doctors in the office today or tomorrow, but maybe there is a nurse who could advise you. My weigh-in was 3 weeks ago today, and I've lost over 30 pounds--I still find it amazing. I'm still on three 2-ounce meals, but I have substituted a protein drink (1 scoop, 4-5 ounces of water) for one of them because I am concerned about getting enough protein. Be pro-active, keep in touch with PB, and keep letting us know how it's going. All best, Pat Dr. Leo , PB Open: 9/21/04 346/313/283 -----Original Message-----From: Rory G. Guest guest
Rory Are you weighing your food or using the little cups they give us at the hospital? Because if you are using the cups still you may not be getting enough. You should weigh your protein(meat) on a scale. I did that too and found out that I wasn't eating enough. So I began weighing my food instead thanks to people in here. Thats one thing that led to my plateau at 4 weeks out. I felt much better. Hope this helps you > > Hi kids, > I am one month out and down 40 --- my challenge is this: > I have graduated from puree to fish and shrimp. Guest guest
Hi Rory, I also had my lap RNY with Dr. Tanaka back in May of this year and I totally remember feeling light headed for the first month or so, even though I was eating and drinking as I should. I think it is just an after effect of recovering from the surgery that happens to some people. For me, it went away during my 2nd month post-op. Best wishes and I hope it goes away soon for you. - Lesa - OK POST-OPS, I NEED HELP Hi kids, I am one month out and down 40 --- my challenge is this: I have graduated from puree to fish and shrimp. Guest guest
Rory, Please call your doctor and discuss this with them...they may want to run some labs...I was dangerously low on potassium at about a month out and often felt light headed, like I was going to pass out and no energy. They ran some labs and then put me on mega doses of potassium. So, I would say call them, there could be a number of reasons why, better safe then sorry! Guest guest
Everyone is different but my paperwork was submitted on a Monday, they got all the evaluations on Thursday and I got a call that same day saying I was approved. I am now waiting for orientation and am able to lose the 10% while I wait. ===== Heidi Lauw
