As scary as this biopsy is-- I'd have to know what that mass is over his pitutary gland.

Has Dr. Stern done a full body scan to see if there are tumors elsewhere in his body. I'm sure he wants to make sure that this mass isn't cancer. Maybe Stinson can shed some light on others ways to check for head tumors.

Dear Aisha, Darling!

1. Yes, Gregg has an Gastro. The only thing that showed was mild inflammation

of his upper digestive tract and a couple of benign polyps in the lower which

were removed. Nexium was prescribed and Reglan - they seem to help normally

(once a day at bedtime), but on the days he is vomiting all day, they don't do

anything. We haven't thought of seeing an Anesthetist, and I bet it would be

hard to get a referral to one too...

He did have a Gallium Scan with " unremarkable " results.

He has had a chest exray, numerous CT scans with and without contrast AND a

bronchoscopy with transbronchial biopsy with (I think) 6 pieces of tissue from

different parts of both lungs with normal findings.

We don't think that the " black-out " was a seizure - Dr. Stern thinks it was

probably a faint from low blood sugar, but says if it happens again to bring him

to the ER.

His FDG PET scan was also " unremarkable " - not only the brain, but his whole

body.

He has not had a Liver ultrasound, but he did have one of his Gallbladder which

was normal.

Tell me more about ACE, CRP & ESR levels. Are these blood chemistry lab tests?

The Gastro says he doesn't see anything that could be interpreted as sarcoid in

Gregg's gut.

I understand tired & bitchy - I get that way too!

Do you have a fax machine? I could fax you his lab results and notes, if you're

willing to look and tell me what you see! I don't know how to interpret much of

it. Dr. B said he was willing to look at Gregg's records, but neglected to give

me a way to get them to him. I'm waiting for that info.

This biopsy isn't of his brain, but the brain casing. They do NOT want to mess

with anything in the position that mass is ocupying.

Full body scans have been done with unremarkable-normal findings (see my answer

to Aisha - it's much more detailed). They seem to have ruled out cancer by

looking for other indicators in addition to the absence of tumors.
