Hey B,

I think it's normal not to be hungry for a while. It was exactly five weeks

before I felt real hunger again. And when I did...whoa! It was funny...I

looked down and said to my tummy... " what's that about?! " I know my dad must

have thought I was crazy! It was just odd to feel it after going so long

without feeling it. So don't fret...that's normal. I didn't really feel

full either because like you I ate very little, very slowly. You sound like

you're doing great! Keep it up!

Your message said that you posted to the plastic surgery group...maybe that's

why we didn't see it.

We do sometimes get carried away with the mundane and even frivolous

exchanges, but we also are there to response as best we can when someone has

a problem.

Have you talked to your doc about your reaction to the meds? You need to do

that immediately and not self medicate or regulate meds that take time to

build up blood levels before they take full effect and help the depression.

We all have to battle the emotional changes that arise following weight loss

surgery. Depression is very common following the massive physical and life

changes the weight loss produces. How we deal with people and how they deal

with us...its all different.

This isn't hopeless. You need to see your doc and get to the bottom of the

causes..situational, chemical imbalances, hormonal, etc. Many who have

experienced what you are going through will also respond and may provide some

support for you as you go through all this.

Take care and feel better.

Hi Sharon!

I know that I am late in responding, but this is the first post from you that I

have read and I do read all of the mail that this list sends to me.

I agree with Bob in that it seems that you are having a bad reaction to the meds

that you are on and need to get it checked out. I am sure that others have

probably suggested the same thing.

Please understand, that we have discussed all types of " serious " subjects here

including gas, constipation, depression, body image, etc. It is only

occasionally that we take a break and have fun. A good balance, I believe, to

all the other topics that are discussed here.

Keep us posted on how you fare with the doctor and the meds. I hope that they

can get it adjusted for you.

, I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time. I'm also sorry

that I can't help about the meds. I don't take an antidepressent at

all. Maybe that is why I'm so crazy? huumm?????? Good luck, and I

know you will get an answer because, these people are so smart!!

- what the heck is " sinusitiest " ? If it is, I am guessing, sinus

infections, etc. - yes. Dr. Harbison told me that the higher incident of sinus

infections/ear infections has to do with the, oh shoot, this is why I need to

write everything down! Someone help me!

I think it is the smaller larynyx, smaller mandible, smaller everything - that

makes it harder for proper drainage. Hopefully someone else will respond

better, and I will print out and save their email!!!

I'm sure someone will have responded to the sinusitis thing by now, but here

are my two cents worth. Children with RSS are susceptible to any kind of

sinus/ear problems because the eustachian tubes do not drain properly.

These run from the ear to the throat. This is, of course, due to how small

the jaw, throat, etc. are. This is how my pediatrician explained Glenn's

(my son) constant ear/nose/throat problems.

Tonia, mother to Glenn, 19.5 lbs, 18 mths.

Hi , you have asked a very difficult question. My search for answers

in this area has led me to the conclusion that the digestive process is an

incredibly complex chemical and mechanical process. The role played by the

pancreas is mostly chemical but again very complex. The delivery of

" chemicals, " enzymes, etc., by the Pancreas is also quite involved and

subject to problems. Also, it seems like the process differs in different

people.

There are many resources within this board and many contributors to help your

quest.

The WWW in general provides a wealth of information and some, misinformation.

Just do a little surfing and it will lead you into countless hours of study.

As to active help. Please don't minimize the important aspects of

" self-awareness, " stress related incidents, and specialized food or

medication involvement.

Don't be disheartened if you run into a brick wall or two, for instance while

there are many identified conditions on this board, there are also many

examples the fact that these conditions cannot be rectified or corrected,

just accepted and lifestyles modified to tolerate the conditions.

Physically the pancreas has a structure like that of a very worn and very

cheap sponge. If it is broke it would be almost impossible to repair and Lord

knows you can't just throw it away and buy a new one. I think this

characteristic of physical fragileness is one of the main problems of

effective treatment for pancreatic problems. Anyway good luck in your search

and please share any specific questions you have and any significant

information that you might develop.

Hi ,

I live in Colorado Springs, but was just diagnosed in January. My doc situation

is far from resolved at this point in time. What test did they do to diagnose

you? What doc did that? What I have learned hasn't been from the docs, but

what I have looked up on the internet myself, and from the knowledge of this

group. And, I'm still learning everyday! The one thing and first thing the doc

will tell you is that you won't be able to have alcohol ever again. Alcohol is

VERY bad for the pancrease. The second is a low-fat diet. Most people try to

stay under 24 grams of fat a day. I try and stary between 10-15 grams. Where

in Colorado are you?

Nice to meet you,

,

One of the internet addresses you can find some of the answers is the

Hopkins' GI website: http://hopkins-gi.org/subspeciaties/acutepanc,

I'd also look at chronic pancreatitis on the same website. If you access

this group through the yahoo website, there is a bookmark page with a

lot of other information on pancreatitis. If you can't find it, let me

know and I'll type up all the URLs for you. I know we have one person

from Colorado on this website, so I'd ask her for a referral to a good

GI doc. Her name is Debi (other wise known as Col Debi since we have

several Debbies in the group).

You can reach me either through posting to this group or emailing me

directly at hominid2@....

Hi everyone!

I have a question. What kind of specialist is mostly recommended to treat

CU,

an allergist or a dermatologist. I'm currently seeing a dermatologist who is

wonderful, but I'm reading about medications on this site that she has never

mentioned. I keep getting worst, and feel like I want a second opinion.

Would

an allergist be able to help me more, you think? Thanks, a in NY
