Guest guest
I'm so sorry that I have been remiss in writing to you girls. I think of you daily. We have had nothing but company for the past month. Guess everyone wants to visit Nashville in the spring and summer. Our latest guests just left Saturday and my hubby's son and family will be here Thursday. WHEW! I am doing fine... will have my 20th RADS today. 13 more to go. I am streaking through it so far. My skin is a bit tender and red with a bit of exema, but nothing bad. My doctor is making sure that I slather with plenty of oils and cream. I miss everyone a lot and hope all is good. I haven't had a chance to read the group email and it is piling up and up. THANK YOU for the off group note. Don't know when I will be able to participate again.... when Bill's family leaves we will be travelling to Maine for a much needed vacation the first of July. All my treatments will be complete and we are going to CELEBRATE big time!! I am feeling stronger each day... THANK GOD. I want to get back in here when we get home in late July and try to help the new ladies who need it. Everyone was so helpful to me when I was a newbie at this BC thing. So many of you pulled me through it when I thought I couldn't...... Andree, , Lu, Janet, Ren, to name a few. If I left out your name it's because chemo brain is alive and active in my head. Love to you all!!!!! Trisha

I will need to stay in another city to get good treatment and I am a little aprehesive about the applications, so it is good to read your post. I am up to here (close to over my head) in side efects, but it looks like radio is not so bad. Thanks! Trisha wrote: I'm so sorry that I have been remiss in writing to you girls. Guest guest
Hi , I saw my Dr. yesterday (I see her every Monday) and she said my skin is breaking down a bit and may have to give me a break for a day or two in the cycle. She is very mindful of my skin and I thank her for that. I have an area -that is the field area- that is red and somewhat speckled that goes from under my arm and covers the entire breast, even on the underside. So far it is a bit itchy but hasn't been painful. I use the RadiaPlex Gel on the area 3 times a day and also use Triamcinolone cream at least 4 times a day. I also use Andree's HELL cream constantly. Make sure that your radiologist prescribes the creams early in your RADS so as to keep the skin soft. ALSO use the HELL cream BEFORE you start the RADS. The best of luck to you . I was so fortunate that I had very few side effects with my chemo.... except for the extreme fatigue. Guest guest
Thanks Trisha, My last chemo was yesterday and my onc told me that radio should begin in 3 weeks. I will talk to the radio onc about the care with my skin. I am not fair skin so maybe rashes are not going to happen. My concer is about spots, permanent ones. Hopefully the radio will not have side effects of this magnitude!
