Guest guest
hi, please don " t get any hard feelings with each other...everyone is different, what works for one person might not work for someone else. All i have is my own experience to share....i also have panic attacks, for a while i took medication for it, but then i stopped taking it, because i am a recovering alcoholic and addict, i have been clean for 5 years, so i wanted to learn how to deal with it without taking medication. What i have learned from my experience is that alot of the times,( not all the time) i bring my attacks on myself, usually when i am afraid or scared about something. Of course i hate to admit it but i can see it now...i had to get blood drawn today, i did not have a panic attack, but i could feel my heart pounding faster then usual...I am not a nurse or a professional, i am just sharing what i have been through. michelle

Guest guest
I have to agree with on this one gang. I have been in the Nursing field for over 20 years and cannot find any evidence to support that lactated ringers solution has any connection to panic attacks. I will continue to research this and if I can find any information will be happy to forward it to the list. Also, maybe Dr. Rutledge could comment on this so there is not unnecessary fear prior to surgery!
Guest guest
since i do suffer from panic disorders, i would like to ask the ones who are in the health field a question..i didn " t think there was anything that could cause my attacks to come on, but my own fears....is that true.?..what i mean is that i bring them on myself...if i am wrong please let me know....The doctors that I have seen, all have there own ideas. three of the doctors that i have seen in the past 6 years diagnosed me totally different. it drives me up the wall sometimes....michelle

Guest guest
, this is such an open question I truly wish there was a simple answer to give you. As a health care professional, I can only suggest that if you suffer from panic disease disorder that you seek medical attention. There has been discussion that yes, it is " brought on by the individual " but also others say there is a chemical imbalance. This really is a relatively new area and so much research is currently going on now. What is important here to remember is that each of us is an individual and we all react differently to things. What is important is that if you have any past history of any type of allergic reaction in the past that you let Dr. Rutlege know. The last thing he would want to do is put anyone in jeopardy of another risk! I hope this has helped you some .. please feel free to contact me if I can be of any other assistance. Guest guest
, I am the one who started the whole thing about LR, just by asking if it was used. I am also a health care professional, I do suffer from panic disorder and I also need this life saving surgery. You obviously have no compassion for people with this disorder, which is common, even among health care professionals. Just reading your post made me angry. There is no possible way you can know everything. As I said, I am an EMT and have started thousands of IV's and I did not know this, but I didn't make it up off the top of my head either. I see a very good and well respected psychiatrist and when I told him what happened with my surgery, HE is the one that asked me to find out what solution was used and HE also showed me scientific correlation. So, therefore, I am NOT " Tilting the windmills " as you say. Maybe you should do some research of your own before trying to put other people down who are just trying to save their own life!!!!!!! Guest guest
Ditto from me, I have been in the Nursing profession for over 20 years too and have never heard of such a claim before. I'd really like to see the info this claim is based on. I too am going to look for any information and will forward to the list if I find anything. Guest guest
Hi, I don't know how much this will help but Bach Flower Essence, about 36 of them, all deal with various emotional aspects and may benefit you in several ways. Would you know if you have access to any of these? You would find them in Organic grocery stores or herb stores, sometimes vitamin stores (not GNC). a Pinkrose35@... wrote: > > From: Pinkrose35@... > > since i do suffer from panic disorders, i would like to ask the ones who are > in the health field a question..i didn " t think there was anything that could > cause my attacks to come on, but my own fears....is that true.?..what i mean > is that i bring them on myself...if i am wrong please let me know....The > doctors that I have seen, all have there own ideas. three of the doctors that > i have seen in the past 6 years diagnosed me totally different. it drives me > up the wall sometimes....michelle > > > This message is from the Mini-Gastric Bypass Mailing List at Onelist.com > Please visit our web site at http://clos.net

Guest guest
Noone was trying to malign your character. My doctor's info came from a psychiactric journal published this year. I was only trying to point out that even if you have been in the health care field forever, there are new things to learn every day, especially about disorders such as mine and that people should be a little more sensitive. This group has always been very supportive, which is why I continue to stay with it, but I don't like someone trying to make me look like a fool when I am just trying to gather info and give info. I thought that was what we are all here for. Guest guest
I also went to Medscape and was unable to locate the information. I really would be interested in seeing this. Can you please tell me where I can find the information to support the effects of LR on panic attacks.

Guest guest
Thank you for the medscape.com site. I went there and there is a lot of very useful information. It is very up to date on new ideas and procedures. Medicine changes so quickly, just like the computer field. It's hard for everyone to be up to date on everything new. Thank you for enlightening me on the lactated ringers solution. While I don't have panic disorders, I do suffer from clinical depression. Illnesses of this sort are hard for people to understand unless they too suffer from them. I wish you well and hope Dr.R reconsiders you for surgery. Good luck! Guest guest
You can also go to www.ferretsoft.com and get the free webferret download. This uses 6 different search engines to simultaneously search for phrases. It has and/or, exact phrase, etc. capabilities. Very easy to use. gypsygal@... wrote: > From: gypsygal@... > > I went to Medscape and first registered as a member and then put in the search Lactated ringer use with panic and came up with several articles > Dee in NC > > APEXKAS@... wrote: > > > From: APEXKAS@... > > > > I also went to Medscape and was unable to locate the information. > > > This message is from the Mini-Gastric Bypass Mailing List at Onelist.com > Please visit our web site at http://clos.net
