Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the info. That's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. If you don't mind my asking another question or two . . . I thought that any reconstructive referrals would have to come from our pcps or some such - is this not the case? I mean Dr. Fisher is head of surgery at Richmond, isn't he? Did he do your WLS? I guess I'm just wondering if I should be looking to talk to my WLS surgeon about reconstructive work or if it should be my pcp. I am a long way from being ready for reconstructive work - I need to lose at least another 80 lb. - but I am trying to build my case, as it were. Do you know what criteria Dr. Fisher used to approve your panni? Thanks for your help. It is so wonderful to be able to ask questions of those who are ahead on this journey. Guest guest
Hi Yes Dr Fisher was my WLS surgeon. The apron has to hang a certain amount of inches from the knee. I dont know the exact amount of inches. You can also qualify for other reasons, such as reoccurring rashes, back pain, ect. You just need to talk to your surgeon. As for who refers you..its your wls surgeon...at least it was in my case. Dr Fisher himself will be performing the surgery. Its not like a tummy tuck which does cosmetic tightening of muscles..it just removes the skin. Hope that helps
Guest guest
Hi , Thanks. That does help. I'll be seeing my surgeon tomorrow - I think I just might mention the back pains and rashes to him & see what he says. Take care, Kay open RNY 12/1/03 Diane Duenas wrote: > Hi Yes Dr Fisher was my WLS surgeon. The apron has to hang a certain > amount of inches from the knee. I dont know the exact amount of > inches. Guest guest
Congratulations on your milestone! Sorry I am so late in telling you this, since I have gone back to work things have gotten crazy and I'm pretty tired at night. Keep up the great loss! CarolKay wrote: Hi folks,I've been way too busy these days to keep up with posting here as much as I'd like - in fact, as soon as I finish this brief note, I've got to get back to work.Nonetheless, I really want to share this moment. As of this morning, my BMI is 39.6 - which means that I am finally no longer Morbidly Obese!!!!! I started this journey with BMI of 70.9 (Super Morbidly Obese). I'm still Obese - even Severely Obese according to the Obesity Help website - but here is sooooooo very much better than where I was. I'm 5'1" and still weigh over 200 pounds (209.5 to be precise), but folks are starting to look shocked when I say that I want to lose another 60 to 70 pounds. Evidently nobody pegs me for being as heavy as I still am. Anyway . . . I'm off to get some work done, but I had to share this triumph. All the best to all of you.Take care,Kayin San Leandroopen RNY 12/1/03highest weight: 375 lb. bmi 70.9at surgery: 338 lb. bmi 63.9today: 209.5 lb. bmi 39.6goal: whatever eating right and exercising determine [as long as it's under 200 ;-p ]
