Guest guest
I just turned 40 and mine was approved for kaiser to cover it ! So I guess it just depends on your skin elactisity, how much you lost, where you carried the weight, c-sections etc. Mine comes off in two weeks !!!! yipee!!!! Guest guest
I don’t know Sandi, but that’s a good question. I have 30 more pounds to lose before I join the century club and I’m 37, so I guess I’ll let ya know, but as it looks now, I think I will need a tummy tuck (and a boob lift – oh what the hell, might as well do the inner thighs too!!!) Do younger WLS patients still need a tummy tuck? I was wondering . . . are there many WLS patients who loose more than 100 pounds who do NOT need pannedectomy (tummy tuck). Does the skin retract better on a younger patient? I just turned 50 years old, and I fully expect to need this additional surgery. --Sandi H. Guest guest
Hi Sandy, I think that it would depend a lot on how one carried her weight, but I haven't heard of any who don't need some work if the weight loss is great enough. My friend who had surgery 2 weeks before me is only 27 years old and it is looking like she will need a tummy tuck if she want a flat tummy. However, her skin is definitely tightening up much better than mine - I'm twice her age. Her arms and legs are looking good and it looks like the tummy tuck is the only reconstructive surgery she will need. I should be so lucky! Tummy, breasts, thighs, arms, rear, neck, face . . . it is all drooping. Sigh! Oh, well . . . better the drooping than carrying around the extra tonnage. Guest guest
I am 35 years old and needed the Tummy Tuck. (panniculectomy) I just had it two weeks ago. I had eleven pounds removed! I have lost a total of twenty pounds since surgery. I feel good, not great, but good:) I am a little sore and have just started to stand straight. I was sewn so tight, but that is a good thing. My incision is hip to hip, and my belly button was repositioned. I am really pleased with the results, my stomach is very flat.
