Guest guest
Stop the Abuse every year approximately 1.5 million american women are assaulted by a current or former partner. another 2000 are killed. often, their terrified children witness the violence. thats why I wanted to remind you that this October is the 15th annual domestic violence awareness month. just a few ways to get involved: shop at stores donating a percentage of a days proceeds to the family violence prevention fund, a national public policy and educational organization {Marshall's will donate a percentage of October 4th sales, and Liz Claiborne will give 10% of October 18th sales}; wear a purple ribbon; send a postcard urging your doctor to screen patients for domestic violence. [call 888-rx-abuse for a free postcard; you can also order free kits for creating community programs] and something to remember always: if you or someone you know is being victimized, call the national domestic violence hotline at 800-799-safe or your statewide hotline or local domestic violence program. please pass this on to everyone you know!!
