Guest guest
I've been assured that all patients receive the same size pouch and the same amount of bypass. There are 2 surgeons performing each surgery so I doubt you were singled out for a different procedure... UNLESS you have some anatomical or medical problem that precluded them doing the usual procedure on you. As said, first evaluate whether you are following all the guidelines to the letter. Second, don't compare your results to the results of others. Some people lose weight slowly, and the larger pre-ops seem to lose faster than those who were lighter. Your weight was pretty low to start with (even taking into consideration your height). This is the rest of your life. You can get to goal weight, it just might take you longer. The surgery is a crap shoot: If it takes 2 years for you to get to goal, that's what you get. Most of us were burning to " Be There " as soon as possible, only to discover that (1) Our bodies have their own schedule, and (2) When you Get There, nothing has changed diet-wise. You still have to follow the rules, or else you'll gain it back. So today is exactly like any other post-op day, whether you're at goal or not. So take this time to learn new habits, go to therapy and discover the reasons you wanted to eat, etc. I advise you to stop focusing on Kaiser's wrongs. It won't help you. And malpractice is very difficult to win if you actually were not harmed, which you weren't. You survived just fine and the outcome of the surgery isn't hurting you, it's just disappointing you. There are no damages to sue for, and a lot of court costs. Sorry if I sound harsh, I don't mean to. I just hope you can find some positive ways to cope with this. Guest guest
I know how you feel. I lost 29 pounds before surgery, am ten months out on the 14th of this month and have only lost an additional 54 pounds. I don't blame Kaiser though. I know that I'm just a slow loser. I could exercise more and I could eat less. I guess you'ld say I blame myself and you'ld be correct. I plan on jump starting my losing by going on a protein fast starting Saturday. I know I can lose the rest of my weight (I have 38 pounds to go). Make sure you look at yourself and make sure you're doing everything the way you're suppose to be doing it before blaming Kaiser completely. W.
