Guest guest
Kallie... Fabulous! I am so looking forward to being able to look at myself in pictures again. I remember those days. I have been keeping an inner dialogue journal this week ( a Kay Pace Keepers assignment) and have caught myself saying some very derogatory things about and to myself when I pass in front of the mirror. What's that all about? I keep reminding myself that it took awhile to get this way and that it will take some time to get it off. Am am excited thought that in 3 weeks I have lost 13 lbs. How fun is that. Your email gave me hope that it will be my turn soon. April, Thanks so much for letting us enjoy your news. I am thrilled for you. What a sense of accomplishment you must have gained from that. Mitch, as always you are a boon to me and a great role model. Keep up the good work everyone...I am pulling for you all and am so grateful to have been able to find a group like this one. Amber In CO 235/215/204 (1st 10%) Surprising Compliment!! Well some of you may remember me posting about going to a house party last Saturday night. At any party or function I always take my camera, at this one I forgot. Two of my friends had their cameras and they took a lot of pictures. Well, this morning when I went to the post office to get my mail, I had one really surprising conversation!!! One of my friends who works there, came over and said hey Kallie, did you see any of the pictures that H. took at the party, I said no. She said well I still haven't got mine done yet, but you should see her's. Now the good part is that these two friends are the skinny minnies we all mention at times. One is around 125-130 and the other around the 140 mark, but she is around 5'8 " .. Well I was not expecting her to say what she did, because I do not take good pics. Anyway the other friend said look at that Kallie, she's a lot skinner than we are now, and the friend I was talking to said your right, she is. She said they never realized just how much smaller I was until they looked at me in pictures. Then she said you took the best pictures of the whole bunch...blush, blush, blush!!! I said there is no way I am smaller than you's( because I know I am heavier), and she said well you wait til you see them. Joking, I said if they are that nice I want a copy. But let me tell you it was such a surprise to hear this, and caught me completely off guard, because when they were snapping them, the whole time I kept grinding my teeth and trying to get away from the cameras view. I did not want them to have my pics in their albums at all, I still keep thinking I look like I did 68 lbs ago. Anyway I really felt great after this, I kind of thought well no one mentions it and to actually hear it from someone who very rarely dishes out compliments was WONDERFUL!! I am still on a high, I guess you could say it made my day!! WOW!! ~~Kallie~
Guest guest
That's so awesome, Kallie! I had the exact opposite experience the other day, but with the same outcome. I was at a friend's house and she had found so OLD photos of a camping trip we had went on when I was at my largest about four years ago. I was in shock, to say the least, but it made me really appreciate all the hard work I've put in to be where I am now. It's been a long journey for me and I sometimes " forget " where I've come from.
