Hi All, Pre-op 10lbs to go before being scheduled. Surgery will be

in Richmond. Looking for Support group here in the Sacramento

area. Seems to be lots of good information in this group and

looking forward to participating.

I had my surgery in Richmond, my doctor for the surgery was Dr.

Fisher and my post-op doctor is Dr. Baggs. It's a nice place. Good

luck on the 10lbs. I have read a couple messages regarding support

groups here in Sacramento. There is suppose to be one at Point West

Way Kaiser and one in Roseville. I'll have to look back on the

messages to get the address.

Two days ago I posted in response to someone else asking the same question. I'll reprint it below:

As others have said, there is the Kaiser Point West meeting on the 4th Saturday of the month. I don't know the details about the Kaiser meeting, but I do know there is an automatic "reminder" on this list when the meeting is near. Perhaps others who attend can post information about it.

There is also the Wowsalsa meeting. I personally LOVE the Wowsalsa meeting. Although it was started for patients of Dr. Waldrep's group, it's now open to anyone and there are a lot of Kaiser patients who attend. They also have an online support group that is quite active and encouraging (go to www.groups.yahoo.com and do a search for Wowsalsa).

The Wowsalsa support group is great because they have a guest speaker every month (yesterday it was a nutritionist) -- like a psychologist, bariatric surgeon, plastic surgeon, bariatric physician, personal exercise trainer, behavior management specialist, etc. They also have a wonderful clothing exchange, and sometimes have vendors offering freebies or discounts for services/products. Very cool people there too.

Wowsalsa meets the second Saturday of every month, from 3-5 p.m. at Sutter Roseville Hospital, second floor conference room. You just HAVE TO check out this group -- it is wonderful!
