Shirley has had a much better day today. during surgery the drs put in a feeding tube. they started her on tube feeding yesterday and pulled the ng tube. well things did not go through well and that is why she was vomiting yesterday. today they started her back on tpn and stopped the tube feeding. this is why she is having a better day. right after the surgery her blood sugars were manageable and now they are out of range with her sugars in the 200's. they had just spoke with the pharmacist so they can adjust the tpn so the sugars stay within a more normal range. said Shirley was exhausted and slept a good part of the day. she showered this morning and after her nap they were going to see if she could get up and walk a bit. s! ounds like she is doing so much better.
