Guest guest
Congratulations !!! The drains are the part that is worrying me as I wait for reconstructive surgery. How bad are they to live with?
Guest guest
: They are not that bad and not even painful, at least not for me. They were however, a bit bothersome, because you have something hanging off of you, in the front, that you wouldn't normally have so it takes a little getting used to. They were normally attached to my pressure garment (that I will have to wear until August 15) with safety pins. I did snag them a couple of times which was quite an ouchie! So just be careful about that and you'll be fine. That's why concealing them under clothes, even at home, was a good thing for me. I snagged them when they were hanging out after I'd taken a sponge bath and hadn't yet gotten fully dressed. After the first week, I was able to conceal them well enough under clothes and even go out to eat, a movie and over to friends' house for a dinner party. However, I have yet to wear normal pants. I've only worn elastic waist shorts and sweats. Tomorrow I will try my regular pants for the first time. Now the nice thing is that I don't have this lump underneath my clothes in the waist area. I don't think others could really tell that there was something there, but still, I'm glad they're gone. Hope this helps.
