Guest guest
Hi everybody. I'm 5 mos. post op, have lost 97 lbs., and have not had an easy time of it since surgery. I was recently scoped for the 3rd time, and they said I'm completely open and clear. So why do I have a feeling of fullness in my throat all the time? I can't eat, but I try to force myself so I don't end up in the hospital malnourished again. Can anybody tell me what is the matter with me? The doctors suggest it's all in my head. Believe me, it's a physical feeling, which is not something I can't get thru to the docs.

Guest guest
We're not doctors, but I can tell you that my son-in-law was scoped (not because of WLS) and they found no reason for him not being able to eat. He had lost 40 pounds and felt like he would choke if he tried to eat anything, he was only drinking soup and shakes. This went on for several weeks and slowly he was able to eat mashed potatoes and yogurt and a few soft foods. Finally he was able to start eating little by little. The doctor told him the same thing, it was all in his head and I really think the doctor was correct. He had choked very badly on a piece of hard candy, I think it had scratched his throat. This whole thing just kind of escalated to not being able to eat. Have you thought of seeing a psychologist? It couldn't hurt to try it. Just my opinion. I certainly wish the best for you, keep us informed as to how you are doing. Carolshoogafwee wrote: Hi everybody.
