What is your biggest hurdle with regards to loosing weight/ keeping the

weight off? And how do you deal with it?

Mine is the picking at the kids leftovers, that mindless munching while

making dinner. A just a taste of this or a taste of that. I am a wahm so the

majority of my time is spent right in the house.

Kris,

I love your idea of having a weekly topic to discuss. For me, a weight loss

challenge has been choosing foods that get me through to the next meal -- know

what I mean? I've discovered that I need to eat at least some protein at

each meal (not at the snacktimes though), or I will be hungry again much too

soon. Another challenge -- one that I'm doing well at -- is learning to make

better, healthier food choices and still satisfy my need for volume. This whole

WW journey has been a huge learning experience for me. I was pretty stupid

about foods and nutrition before WW!

As for challenges in keeping off the weight.... can we revisit this in a few

months when I'm at goal? LOL! I know there will be many challenges!

Take care -

Bette

I guess mine is also watching out for mindless mucnhing on the wrong

kinds of things and keeping my sweet tooth at bay with good things

other than plain ole sugar foods. I am doing the yougart thing now

with kashi and fruit, something that takes awhile to finish. The

kashi is hard and crunchy and goes well with it. This has been a real

sweet curber, by the time I am done with a dish, my sweet craving is

gone, and I use very little points....

I think this is a good topic Kris, we will gets lots of ideas from

it......Kallie

1. Snacking: I am a big snacker. Even if it's only a small handful of

something or a couple of hard candies, I like to have something every

couple of hours. Although this can be a good habit (keeps that engine

stoked), I have to control how many points I allow for snacks every

day. I, like Mitch, have had days where my snack points almost

outweighed my meal points. Probably the biggest struggle snacking is

to keep those snacks low point AND nutritious (not just low point,

but sugary and sweet).

2. Becoming complacent: If I find myself eating the same thing for

lunch, dinner, and snacks for too long, I get bored and am much more

susceptible to temptations. I am a creature of habit, and I will eat

the same thing day in and day out if I don't watch it, so I work real

hard to vary my menu so as not to get bored.

3. Handling " unprepared for " food situations and temptations: I've

just had to draw a line here. I WILL NOT eat a donut just because

someone at work decided to bring them in one morning. I WILL NOT have

a piece of cake because it's a co-worker's birthday. I WILL chose

fruit and nuts to snack on at the co-worker's retirement party. These

things are going to happen all the time, I am in charge of myself and

what I put in my mouth.

For me it would probably be those " freebies " after a meal, at Costco,

etc. I know I can easily down three or four points in freebies on a

Costco trip. I tend to not want to journal them because they were " free "

so that means they were point " free " right?
