Cy,

Have we ever told you how amazing is? :-) I'm sure many times before,

but he continues to amaze me! He sounds like a wonderful, well-founded and very

mature 14-year-old! How proud you must be!! I'm hoping the labs become stable

again and you can skip the prednisone. Let us know about the C3-I always wait

for 's update on that level as I've had problems with C3/C4 also.

I know he'd do much much much better than me at the Geography Bee!! Just

wondering, is one of the cities Brazzaville, Congo?

quick update

Hi guys,

Just a quick update from these quarters. After about a year of great BP's

and labs, labs stopped being quite so reliably excellent: BP up,

proteinuria bouncing around after a period of relative stability, and one

bizarrely high creatinine (we all knew it was lab error, but it did get my

attention). We were back at the neph yesterday with most recent labs in

hand. Proteinuria was back down, but as the doc indicated, it's been

trending up. C3 is down (not good). If it stays down next month, the neph

says she'll try pred IV's followed by a very rapid taper.

Amazingly, this is where we were at exactly this time last year. All last

fall, labs started to look a bit dicey. The docs responded by threatening

another around of pred IVs if things didn't improve in January.

Fortunately, in January C3 surged up - and stayed up almost all year. It's

less nerve wracking this time round. I just hope we have a rerun of last

year.

On other fronts - ph and the Technicolor Dreamcoast opens tomorrow

night. was cast in 101 Dalmations and will be taking off for Atlanta

over MLK weekend where the play will showcased -- and as of yesterday, he's

made it to the semi-fnals for the National Geographic Geography Bee

competition at the school level. Next week will be the finals. Fingers

crossed! Quick: what two two major African cities are on either side of the

Congo River?

Cy I do hope it's just a blip like last year. I wonder if it could be caused by

school starting up again...does his eating habits/styles change when the school

year starts up? Could the added stress cause his numbers to jump around a bit

then by January he is settled into his classes and routine so they come back

down/up? Just some random thoughts...

You have one incredible kid there! Wish him luck in the Geography Bee...and

tell him to watch out for those homeschoolers...they sneak in and win. ;o)

Good luck too with the upcoming plays! Does he have any intention to pursue

acting after he is out of highschool?

Oh Cy,

I just hated reading your email about 's labs trending worse and

seeming to be less stable. We prayed him through it last year, and we need to

do

that again this year. I really pray in Jan of 2005 you get the same kind of

news you got in Jan of 2004.

I know you will keep us posted. He is really our poster child with all he

has endured and how active he is. What an amazing young man he is.

Tell to break a leg with ph and 101 Dalmatians!

Best of luck on the Geography Bee too!
