Hi Gang - Graduated from Chemo today. As I've been talking about, the doctor wanted me to do two more, but with all the information I had and the difficulties I had with the chemo, I decided 4 was enough. The onc agreed that two more wouldn't make that much of a difference in my case. Now they have to throw me into menopause...not sure if I have chemopause or not since I'm not regular. The onc is checking my hormone levels and then I will be receiving a shot to shut down my ovaries. I don't qualify for Tamoxifen since I have a history of blood clots. Apparently you have to be in menopause to use Arimidex (spelling?). While I'm waiting for the hormone test I'll be getting shots for my red blood cell count - new strength!! Guest guest Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 I started on Arimidex even though I had not gone through menopause, but the chemo must have kicked me into it. Anyway, after about 8 months I started my monthly and was taken off of it and put on Tamoxofin. Me and that drug did not get along, so several months into that my onc put me back on Arimidex along with a monthly shot that I take. I am sure they will figure out what works best for you too. Good luck and congrats on the finale of chemo!!!!! ren Quote
