Kenny,

Don't give up on pain mgmt Drs. Not all of them will do blocks if you don't want them done. And, just because one block was bad, maybe that was the Dr.

Let us know what the neurologist says...

Hugs,

Jo

Kenny

Your decision is probably the best one. You only have one body and

you have to do what is right for you. If doing the first injection

caused your body that much hell you have every right to be fearful of

another one.

You are in our thoughts Kenny and know that this group of people are

always here!

Hugs

Donna

Kenny,

I went to the ER 3 1/2 weeks ago, and as soon as this witch doctor heard me say that I was on Methadone, she immediately started in asking me how I used Herion, how long I was using it, how long had I been off of it, and how long had I been using Methadone for getting off of it. She really pissed me off.....

And, because she didn't want to believe me, she gave me a shot of Nubain, which will send a person on Methadone into Immediate Withdrawls......and I went thru some major hell that night. It was worse than the original flare that I went to the ER to begin with!!!

But, what I wanted to tell you was, Even being a Recovering Addict, if you are a Chronic Pain Patient and need to take any type of Narcotics for the pain, it is a totally different thing than taking them for fun.

As a Pain Patient, your body needs the Narcotic Meds to function. The med helps your brain to produce Endorphins, because a Chronic Pain Patient can't produce enough on their own anymore to help ease the pain.

A Chronic Pain Patient CAN NOT get high on prescription medications. The only time someone can, is if the dose is too high, and then the doctor needs to lower it, so that it will do it's job correctly.

Now, your body can become Tolerant to the dose that you are on, which, means that your body has become used to the medication, and for it to do it's job properly, it needs to be raised. It Does Not mean that you are becoming addicted to it just because you have to have the dosage raised.

If you would like, I can get the link to the webpage that explains the difference between addiction and dependancy to Prescription Medications for you, so that you can read it yourself. I know that it has you scared that you could become addicted to the Methadone, but, there is absolutely no way possible that can happen as long as you only take it as it says on the bottle, usually 1 pill every 6 hours.

Tonia
