Guest guest
Tonia, No way am I overprotective! LOL I just have a lot of very sharp edges that aren't baby proofed yet. I had to take my son for stitches several times when he was a baby and want to wait til Jake's at least 2 before he opens up something! I certainly let him explore - following him all over, of course! If he gets too close to something overly hard, like the fireplace hearth, I just point him in another direction. He will be 8 mos. old tomorrow and I swear he'll be walking within a month! He loves the pool/water, too. Tries to "swim", and loves to splash. He's huge, too. Almost 30 lbs/30 inches. Got to let him crawl, he's too darn heavy to carry all over! Hugs, Jo
Guest guest
-------Original Message------- He's almost 8 mos. old but he's WORK. Crawls all over, tries to stand up, etc. so I've got to follow him around all the time when he's here making sure he doesn't hit his head.Hugs,Jo ========================================= Jo, you don't need to follow your grandson constantly if you have Child Gates installed to keep him in just one room/area. I know that their heads are soft on top....but, all babies are going to get bumps and bruises as they start learning how to pull themselves up and crawling. Getting those bumps and bruises are what teaches them which area's are where he should be, or shouldn't be, slow down when going in that spot, etc. That's the one thing I found out when Sami was a baby........the Grandparents don't give the babies a chance to learn on their own because they are way too over protective of the babies. It's just a Grandparent thing though.....lol Tonia ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
Guest guest
Thank you again, and now I'll always remember when Petey started to walk... I think it is wonderful, and good luck catching him now! LOL Hugs, Jo
Guest guest
Thanks, Lin for the Birthday wishes. I had a very nice day... my daughter, son in law and grandson took me out to dinner and then out for ice cream. Jake wrote me a lovely " poem " called An Alphabet Ode to Gammy... from a-z (but he forgot the " Y " - but got to forgive him, he's only 8 mos. old). I still have birthday cupcakes for later, too! Thank you again. Hugs, Jo
