Consider the possibility of high ammonia levels, which strongly affect reasoning and personality. Ed is in his late eighties and unable to take the drugs that most of us routinely get.

BERT I'm sure you are speaking for most of us if not all.

Please give the benefit of a doubt and be tolerant of what may be an extremely serious physical condition. "Encephalopathy is a sign of severe liver deterioration. It may cause a person to react in a strangely inappropriate manner. . . People suffering from encephalopathy will commonly lose their tempers over minor incidents or have mood swings for no apparent reason."

We should be deeply concerned about the physical health of a person with liver disease who exhibits these symptoms. This is especially true for an elderly person for whom standard drug therapy is not appropriate.

Jel,

Anyone can change their membership or how they view the emails by

going to the site:

www./group/

Go to the upper right corner, click on " Edit My Membership " . Scroll

through the choices and at the bottom, click on " Leave this group " .

If you are leaving because you are inundated with emails, as is the

most popular reason for unsubscribing, please realize you do not have

to view the messages as emails. You may choose the no email option

and view messages at the site.
